Official privacy policy for Gradient, the marathon and race pace-planning app.
Gradient is a marathon and race pace-planning app built by Rodrigo Yuste. This policy explains what information Gradient collects, why, and what control you have over it.
During onboarding, Gradient asks for:
This information is used to personalize your pace plans and, where you provide an email, to send you a copy of your plan and any pace card you request. Your phone number, if given, is used only to send a backup link to your plan in case your phone resets on race day — it is never used for marketing and never shared.
If you choose to share a course with the community library, the following becomes public and visible to anyone using Gradient:
Your email address is attached to a shared course privately, as the contact for that listing, so the course can be verified or taken down if needed — it is not displayed publicly. You can remove a course you've shared at any time from the community list.
Because the exact start point of a shared route becomes public, we recommend not sharing a route that starts at your home unless you are comfortable with that location being visible to others.
If you submit feedback or a message through the app's Help & Feedback screen, we store the message text, the contact details you provide, and the date submitted, so we can read and respond to it.
Gradient uses Firebase to operate:
If you buy a premium feature (such as an additional color palette) through in-app purchase, that transaction is handled entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit. Gradient does not receive or store your payment details.
Gradient does not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising. We do not share your contact information with anyone other than as described above.
Your onboarding details are stored for as long as you use the app, or until you reset your profile. Community-shared courses remain public until you remove them or contact us to have them removed.
Gradient is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
